HIIT me with a workout !

HIIT (high intensity interval training) is one of the fastest and most effective ways to get and see great results in a short amount of time. HIIT workouts are a core part of our programme for this reason and this Monday we want to share with you a mini-taster of what you can expect at The Fit Retreat shot by our pool in Fuerteventura! Let's HIIT you with a workout!

It's hard work and you will 'feel the burn', but trust me... It's worth every bit of sweat !

Below The Fit Retreat have put together a short video of 5 amazing body weight exercises. You can do these anywhere and it is a complete full body workout.

This circuit will most definitely get your sweat on and set you up for a great week!!!

Repeat this circuit 3-4 times (depending on fitness level)

Take a breather in between exercises and rest 60-90 seconds after circuit is completed.

Stay hydrated and drink lots of water.

 *the number in ( ) are for the beginners.

  • x20 (10) squat and side-leg raise
  • x10 (6) walks outs with two knee tucks
  • x10 (8) forward to back lunges then swap sides (forward to back lunge is x1 rep) 
  • x30 dynamic star jumps, without squat. (Beginners, do normal star jumps)
  • x10 press ups with rotation. (Beginners, you can do this on your knees)  

There is no time limit, just try to finish every exercise and complete at least x3 circuits. For beginners this is quite a tough circuit, but give it a go, take your time and remember doing something is better than doing nothing!
